As part of Kamehameha School’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, Green Building Hawaii was hired as a third-party consultant to perform a variety of energy and water efficiency consulting services spanning several years.

These services included financial grade lighting audits of all buildings in the three main KS campuses across the state as well as their central office building in Honolulu. In addition, the GBH team performed more in depth studies of mechanical systems on select buildings, reviewed sub-metering strategies, identified and implemented water efficiency measures, and participated in some student engagement exercises.

Overall, the project included over 2.2 million square feet of buildings and helped KS realize some substantial savings that supported their sustainability goals.
